Always have had single console boats, feedback from dual owners why they like them.

Little extra storage and don't have to listen to the wife nag.

Covers fit better with no sag. Nice having glove box to store wallet and keys in. Riders appreciate the coverage. I've heard about them taking away room but I really don't use that room and under the dash gives me room to store some things when solo to protect them from the sun and rain. The only real downside for me is that I got a boat too short. Rods don't lie flat on deck and have to lean past the console but I have a console on drivers side that has the same issue. I should have gotten a boat with a longer front deck.
I've owned both single and dual and if I had a choice, I'd choose the dual again. Many of the newer ones have a removable console option. You'd get the best of both worlds with that.

Single fishes better but punishes passengers going down the lake. Dual is better if you care about your passenger or often have someone going with you.

I have a 2012 with a removable passenger side console. I always offer to put it back in the boat for partners and they always say no thanks, they would rather have the extra room at their feet. The extra console just takes up space in my store room.

Plus if you study a little you see that dual console boats are actually faster. Some weird aerodynamic thing.
Retirement best job ever.

I've never understood the argument that single console boats fish better. My old 96 ZX200 was DC and my FX20 is DC, my dads Lake Fork Boat is SC. I would rather fish out of the dual console boats myself. It adds a little storage and makes for a more comfortable(dry) ride when it gets rough. Plus they look a lot better if you ask me. Granted my experiences are all with 20' boats, but I have absolutely no problem laying 8'6" rods on the front deck and I have way more room than I would ever need up front. Even with two guys up front there is enough room in these boats.

Ive had dual consoles in my last 2 Legend V series boats and don't see going back to a sc as long as I'm running Legend. Dual console can be tight in narrower boats but the Legends are so wide that you don't have any problem with space.

I have a removeable console. It was a must have when I purchased a new boat but I thought I might not use it most of the time. I've yet to take it out and any boat I buy in the future will be a dual console. Much better for the passenger, more storage, and to me it just looks way better. It's very easy to remove and I've yet to find that it gets in the way. .

I didn't think I'd ever own a SC again, but a deal came along I couldn't pass up. I love my single console from a fishing perspective. Its 18'9" and it fishes bigger as far as getting around than my 20's did. Moving around the boat is so much easier. With that said, I fish solo 9 out of 10 times so I don't have a partner to complain. If I was buying new, I would definitely buy a boat with a removable console.
