Throw a frog and a white fluke and fish shallow all day. That should catch you some fish....

Fish the clearer water around grass beds. Look for little differences in the shoreline structure/composition. Where the grass starts, where two or more types of grass intersect, little bank cuts, overhangs, etc.

Birch, Alligator, Mustangs.

Fish the willows as well, if you aren't getting bit, slow down on your plastics and let it really soak there. Dead-sticking even. Senko - (wacky or weightless TxRig), throw in a shaky head jig with a small plastic.

White buzzbaits and spinnerbaits are working great too.

Add a Strike King 1.5 square bill to the list of baits getting bit right now, citrus shad has been the best color for me last couple of days.

Split shot flukes and wacky finesse will catch a limit quick. Lite line though. Set your drag for the big bite. Early try square Bill and swimbait on wind blown points.

You know that when you get this kind of help you are obligated to post the results of your trip, good or bad. For me, I would start with main lake points of major spawning coves early and then late morning move toward the back with baits suggested. I've never failed to catch'em on a pumpkin/green rage craw all year round. Good luck, look forward to your post.

Started fishing about 10:00, launched at 515 east and went up north and fished for a bit. Only caught 1 up north so we changed areas. Turns out none of the coved would be productive for us till we went to the last spot which was chaney at around 3:00 we only caught 1 in there too. We fished till about 4 and the biggest thing we caught was a bad sun burn.

Well you done your best and that's good enough. There's still some fish shallow but most are post spawn and weary from the spawn and pressure. I'd say by June 1st most will be back on the feed. I like to hang out on main lake points that have a creek near by with a c-rig and a 10XD.
Better luck next time.

If you want to fish shallow you need to fish 6-9....AM or PM....be a better use of your 6 hours and you won't get sunburn

We had our club tournament out there this past weekend, had 3 weigh-ins, 2 on Saturday and one on Sunday. Early morning up shallow on frogs, spooks and flukes, are working, however the winning guys in our club were wacking them early on deeper points with timber- c-riggin, and shakey heads.
