Learn to Fish Better

If you are new to fishing or just want to be better at it, I can help.

I offer a 4 hour course on fishing for white, hybrid, and striped bass. Learn about the species overview, life history, habitat, and identification. I will teach you about using your GPS and sonar to locate their environmental preferences and setting and reading your sonar to better understand what you are seeing on the screen. Differentiating between what is "fishable" and what is not. We will also discuss rods, reels, and baits. Get all of your questions answered while participating in a hands-on learning environment.

Course: 4 hours
Cost: $300

Learn Your Humminbird GPS/Sonar Electronics Course

Todays fishing electronics can be incredibly complex. They do amazing things and provide incredible detail about what is under the waters surface. Not all brands are the same. Not all units work the same. Some require the factory settings to be adjusted in order to provide the best detail.

Learn what settings do what and how to adjust them to fit your needs. After all adjustments are made, sometimes the angler still needs help interpreting what they see on the screen and relating it to what is happening under the waters surface. I can help you choose the right unit, adjust the settings, and learn to use it. These skills are very important to being successful on the water.

Course: Minimum 2 hour class
Cost: $50 per hour

Please contact me for any questions or about availability and flexibility in your course.

I have received a couple of PM's with questions about Lowrance units.

The technology may vary slightly machine to machine, however the process of reading and interpreting the screen data is the same. I do have experience with Lowrance, but own and use only Humminbird. If you have a Lowrance unit, I can help you learn to be more proficient at setting it up correctly, using it to locate fish, and evaluating the data to be more successful on the water.

I have taught 7 Sonar classes in the last two weeks. Nothing more exciting than to see someone light up when everything finally comes together!

Don't fight with your electronics, learn to make them work for you.

A 2-hour class seems to be the right amount of time to go over the units functions, discuss use of the sonar and SI and DI frequencies, tune the units and idle around and seeing exactly what your unit will do with an instructor onboard to answer questions.

If you are unsure about what settings to use and what the different frequencies do and how they affect what you see, contact me so you can get some help to make your fishing adventures more successful.

As soon as I can afford one of the upper end units, I'll be looking for something like this. Tagged for later.

I can vouch for the man. Showed me how to adjust my sonar (which I had no clue and might as well not had one last 3 years)and taught me how to interpret what I was seeing. Then we did some feechin! Great guy, very knowledgeable and indeed willing to help and put forth a lot of effort. Best guide experience ever.

I'm on RC most every weekend, how do I set up a class? I have a Lowrance HDS 12.
