how do you adjust a gatormount bracket??

just swapped tm on my boat, now i cannot get it to release. i know there is some adjustment to be made. anyone privy to motor guide how-to??? thanks in advance

If you're saying you just installed it and pulling the rope doens't allow you to lift the trolling motor from the bracket, then it's in a bind.
You'll need to loosen the mounting screws and tighten them in an X pattern, being careful to tighten them equally and at the same pace.
Once that's done, it should open. If it doens't at that point, some of us have been known to take a file to the slots in the bracket where the detent pins are.

Might try pressing down on TM and then pulling the cord--Have to do this to mine to get it to release--Just a thought-- Good fishin'

Fishinman, your bracket is in a bind. Adjust the mounting screws carefully like KD said and that should go away.

Its in a bind because either the bracket mounting surface is not totally on the same plane or the bracket may be twisted. Adjusting the bolts like KD and Arty said will get you what you want.

thanks for the advice guys, i found another way to reduce the pressure. i raised the motor about 4", and that cured my problem. of course, if i'm fishing with 2' waves that might be a new problem.
so much water, so little time
