Should I sign up and why? What do I get for $99/year besides free shipping?
We don't get a whole lot of stuff from Amazon, the monthly bill varies between $200 and $500, mostly closer to the $200. Over the past few years there's nothing we ordered that we couldn't wait a week or two to get. I'm not convinced that next day arrival really means that much to us.
What is it that makes that $99 worth it?
Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

Once you sign up for prime you'll order stuff you'd normally get at a local store.its just too easy to pass up.

Do you ship stuff to others? We use it to ship things to my son and grandson in Washington state. saves us mucho $$$$

One of the few things we use that we feel is underpriced. Love Amazon Prime, especially around Christmas.

Prime is worth the price just for the streaming content. There's also a prime only card that gives 5% cash back on all purchases.

I like it. Their amazon music (either computer or app) is awesome.. tons of good tunes at your fingertips.
Discounted prices and free shipping is cool. I dont have the interwebs at home so we've not experienced their TV offerings, but heard great things about them.

What if you have an item that is heavy and shipping is $50, do they waive the shipping if your prime?

Amazon seems to suck these days. I recently made multiple orders, over the last couple months , just to have the items not ship for a week. I currently have 1 order that was placed on april 29 that still has not shipped ... Seems to have gotten worse since I started the prime membership but quickly declined. A year of two back and this did not happen. Items were quickly shipped. EDIT: Looking at amazon prime I guess Ive been put on the back burner and prime members take priority,lol
