All,

Need some suggestions. My 18 yr old is wrapping up his baseball playing days. I can count on one hand over the years he and I have bass fished together. This summer before college I need to leverage a guide service to try and catch some bass.

I have never been to Fork and yes have heard about this lake. But my main objective is to have him ctch quantity of fish vs big bass. Should I find lower cost guide at Rayburn Livingston Conroe.. etc vs Fork? If i can spend $100 to $125 less at lake where quantity of fish is more guaranteed? Or screw it and get a guide at Fork?

Doing the same thing with my boy. We booked a trip in June on Fork with Jay Kendrick. Chose Fork due to proximity to his school. - planned the trip in conjunction with orientation.

Forum is loaded with guide options on Fork.

I have fished Toledo Bend my whole life. Rayburn is probably fishing a little better right now but T-Bend is a lot of fun. I would highly recommend Darold Gleason (South Toledo Bend Guide Service) as a guide on T-Bend. He is a great offshore fisherman and he always has a big new boat. Super nice guy as well.

Have fun!

You don't really need a guide at Fayette (IMO) to catch good numbers. Try to catch it Tuesday - Thursday for a more relaxed trip though. If you have time, hit Fayette on your own and get a guide on one of the others.

Going to Fork next week with my older brother. He wants bream and crappie. I'm trying for bass. Fork is always fun.

Have had guides on Fork twice. Make sure you tell them you want quantity and not quality.

Fayette has been great for numbers but summer is approaching and that usually dwindles to 20 fish a day average.

I will say this, I take more then a few that are very new to fishing, and they have caught good numbers.

Fork is probably not going to get you as good of numbers as Rayburn will that time of the year. I suggest Rayburn and find you a guide that can get you on the offshore bite.

I've never been to Fayette so I would have to say TBend. Great scenery, more laid back and still lots of fish in them waters.
