Need help wanting to take my 2 kids to Calaveras to do some bank fishing don't need any secret spots or anything like that just some help with a decent spot to put them on a few fish. We have been a couple times with no luck at all, recently moved to this area from Ft Worth so don't know the waters in this area yet. Any help is greatly appreciated

The bank fishing at Calaveras is limited and you have your regulars who even though they have a limit of two rods a person they will have triple that amount and nobody seems to enforce the no exceptions rule they have posted at the gate.
I've been going during the week and it's a little better as far as being able to find a spot to fish.
The fishing has been slow but I've been targeting cats mainly.
Depending on the age of your kiddos if they are just looking for something to pull on their line I'd buy some worms and set them up to fish for sunfish.
The spot I would recommend would be the area between the two boat launches.
You can fish the point between the the launches or fish spider island next to the second or deep launch and even in the cove to the right of the office.
Also the cove to the left of the office near the back end of the cove is good for the sunnies.
Good luck!

Just one more cast!

I would try fishing the week days. Plus one on what Jimbo stated.
