I have noticed several of my bank fishing spots are covered & smothered in trash! How about having the Department of Corrections gather up a few groups to clean the banks? That might work for now. We would then have to teach the people who keep throwing their trash on the ground to carry it out with them. I always see the empty minnow bags laying around. Use that as your trash bag and throw it away in the proper place when you leave! It should be that simple!

Just saw where San Francisco is gonna outlaw plastic bags! Going to biodegradable materials that decompose naturally within a 110 days after they are tossed! Lots of flack about it, but i sure like the idea! One trip to WRC between November and March, and seeing the beautiful hardwood bottomlands trees turned into plastic ornaments, and you immediately champion a cause like what SF is trying to do!

GO FIND YOUR OWN!!!

AND PICK UP AFTER YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!!

I try to pick up after folks that leave trash at some of my spots. Sometimes it helps to let people see you doing it. Guilt trip. I am sure after the hard rain we have had, back to square one. Bio-bags may be a good idea.

WRC was one of the spots I was refering to. I used to be able to bring a kitchen trash bag and walk up and down the bank about 50 feet or so until it was full and toss the trash bag in a dumpster. Now I only have to go about 5 feet before the bag is full! I know this subject was covered not too long ago, it just really bothers me to see all that trash on the bank and in the water.

Not "Preaching" Dude, just passing on a few ideas I came up with last time I went out so that are awesome fellow bank fisherman can pass them on to even more people. Something like "word of mouth".

I know man, we have discussed this a couple times. I guess the best thing I have heard of is some guys bringing a garbage bag with them. They take a out a bag of carp everytime they go. ALOT of guys were complaining about grapevine.....really is a sad situation....

What's so hard about picking up your own trash? I always try to carry a plastic wal-mart bag with me (or some other kind of bag) and toss my trash in that as I go. Whenever I head home I try and find a trash can or just throw it away when I get home.

It really isn't that hard. Some people are just lazy and have no respect for nature.

you guys should see my backpack that I carry when I bank fish. All my trash goes in there, so all my empty lure wrappers are in the backpack. Oh yea and the occaisional bottled drink.

I don't really know what to type here.
