Is anyone here currently enrolled at UTD or work there? Out of the thousands on campus, I can't be the only one who fishes.

Also if you're in the Plano or Richardson area, hit me up if you're ever heading out and want a partner- I don't have my own ride however, so I spend a lot of time taking the bus to Twin Lakes on Campbell.

I fish mainly for bass but have an open mind- will go after cats, crappie, "trash" fish, etc.

Lately, not so well. I haven't been going as frequently as I did last year/earlier this year. Last time I went out, which was this past Monday, I didn't see any bass at all (you can at least usually see them, even if they wont bite) and ended up targeting catfish instead- caught a nice bullhead but missed a few bites as well.

The couple times I went before that, I was skunked.

Ever since they got off their beds the action has died down, prespawn I could nail 3-5lb fish at least once or twice a trip, with plenty l-1.5lbers throughout. Not sure where they've gone since then confused

I'm near UTD, near the 190/75 area. I've never fished at UTD. If the ponds are being fished out for people's dinners, I'd assume much of the student body is doing this.

I went to Richland in '85, wow, but I never fished it then or now.

I've only fished Twin Lakes once, but did not catch anything. That was 2 years ago. If the bass are there, they are simply hiding, so I may go again and try soon.

I assume he's talking about twin lakes. UTD doesn't have any ponds with anything more than sunfish and cormorants- and you're not allowed to fish out of them, i've tried. Got run off. Wish i'd see people out fishing that went to UTD- i'd take them out to more productive spots.

Never fished richland, but have heard that it used to be good fishing.

Twin lakes can either be good or bad. Usually it's bad, but sometimes you just get lucky and you can land a good bass or two. There are plenty of catfish in there as well, bullheads mostly and some nice sized channels.

UTD used to have a fishing team, i was on it haha. About 4 years ago though, we tried reaching out at campus and getting more members but could not get anyone interested enough to join. Once we graduated it died. Caught a 8.5 out of twin lakes one year at the end of may, that little pond has some good fish in it, or had. Drop me a pm, ill see if i cant get you out on the water some time.

Have heard the rumors of 9lbs out of Twin Lakes from others, but never seen it for myself. But I know there are some good fish in it for sure. I sent you a PM about your team and about taking you up on your offer to hit some water. cool
