Had to go see for myself and check out my bream spots. Wasn't able to go to any of my old places due to salvinia. Islands matted up. Moved around and didn't get on the fish. Cool temps may not have helped. Quite a few bass fisherman out and saw some catching.

Im afraid the Salvania will be extremely bad this year. May not be able to even get my boat out of the slip in another month. Terrible.

That does sound bad. The wife and I were planning to get after the brim on Memorial day weekend. May have to change plans.

One of my favorite lakes for Bream is Black Bayou north of Caddo up at Hosston, LA. The Islands we socked in with the Salvinia, do you think the matting of Salvinia keeps the water too cool for the Bream to bed up like they used to? John

I wonder if there are fish trying to spawn under the mat. I would think oxygen levels or reduced flow might be an issue. And again, they could be piled up mating and having fun without the chance of a hook interrupting.

We had a great time at Caddo on Memorial Day weekend. Good bite before the front, serious rain with the front, and then the power went out. We really wish the salvinia would go away! Caught the fish (catfish too) on meal worms, earthworms, and crickets.
