Catching Good Crappies on Bonham. Bonham is a BP lake and its full of them. My Dad broke the White Crappie Record this year. Was 2.24 and now 2.6lbs. Seen 4 2lbs this year and bunch of 1.3-1.7 lbers. Female still have eggs and catching male fish off the piles to. You can fish Bonham with 20mph wind. (Little Lake) We fished it this past weekend and the XI5 kept us on the bp with no problem. You'll go thourgh you fair share of dinks tho. Super fun lake to take your kids crappie fishing. Its full of them!!!! 15miles north of Bonham is a small lake call Coffee Mill, pulled 23 off on easter sunday before 11am,( had to make it easter lunch ) [img] https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/usergals/2017/04/full-99378-158901-img_0432.jpg[/ img]

Wow those are good ones! What color and depth are they liking? I've been on Bonham many times as a friend has a lake house up there. Just never fished it. Thanks for the report.

Black and Chart mostly and 8ft-12ft. Scan the North Boat Ramp Cove and the Cove east of it to and you will find BP's. All the coves have them but those have alot.

Thanks for sharing.
The last good time I had on Lake Bonham was before the heavy rains several years ago. The rains before the drought years.
After the rains and several trips could not find a keeper Crappie on Lake Bonham.
Good to see the Lake is recovering.
