I recently heard of someone using snails for bait at lake whitney and was wondering if anyone know where I could buy some.

I have done well with them during weather like we have been having. If you find a bit of run off water anchor from it and fish around where the water flows channels love for bait to flow to them in this kind of area. I have found good humidevenings and colected my own. usea pair of plyers and crack the shell to hook em on the hook.

We've been catching alot of fish in 1 -2 ft of water nad they have had nothing but snails in their stomachs and a few mussels but mostly snails..these are all channel cats I'm referring too

we caught tons of catfish on snails there over the years. We take the snail with shell on and then thread the hook into the hole in the shell and take plyers and crack shell in to peices and cast it in.
