Stamped decks are a thin sheet of metal that is pressed over a mold to form a one-piece, weaker deck. Fabricated/Welded decks are welded out of thicker steel plate and much more heavy duty. If you have an un-even, bumpy area to mow or any bunchgrass, you don't want stamped.

Not all stamped decks are thin, just the cheap ones
