Hello all!

I have been looking for cheap boat/skiff/kayak rentals in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. So far the only thing I have found has been kayak fishing tours on the Trinity River or party boats, speed boats, etc. . Any ideas on other ways for me to enjoy the large number of great lakes in the area?

The marinas I have looked at such so far (Grapevine, Lewisville, Ray Hubbard) only offer pontoon boats, ski boats, or jet skis. Any ideas which lakes specifically have anything like a small skiff to rent for a day or half-day?

Check North Side Marina on Bridgeport. They've got a little variety if I remember.

I often wonder why this is so. I'd think there would be a nice business providing a simple fishing boat for 100 to 150 dollars a day.

next time you go to a marina that rents pontoon boats take a look at them an that is why its seems like if you are not the person paying for repairs the general public runs them like a demolition derby.

Lynn Creek Marina rents small aluminum fishing boats. Unfortunately the storm a couple of weeks ago tore it up and it's closed for now. I think the marina in the state park on Joe Pool (Cedar Hill State Park) rents fishing boats as well. Not sure of the prices for either place.

The boat rentals at Joe Pool (Lynn Creek Marina) are going strong! i've been out to the lake some 7-8 times this month (and as recent as 4/16) and the boats are steadily renting out.

You can see the listing of rentals and prices at www.lynncreekmarina.com

But this site doesn't list out everything! Here's the list of rental items at LCM (from their boat rental flyer):
Paddleboard (1 person)
Kayak (1 person)
Kayak (2 persons)
Canoe (3 persons)
14' jon boat (3 persons)
17' ranger (4 persons)
17' bass boat (4 persons)
22' pontoon (10 persons)
24' pontoon (12 persons)
19' ski boat (8 persons)
Wakeboards
Tubes
Float mats
