So I've got a killer spot that' been good for a nice limit at monti. Yesterday I caught 2 big channels (one weighed 5.5 didn't weigh the other but it was pretty much identical) and a really big blue gill. Off the same stretch of bank definitely off beds.

Very few trips to Monticello that I DIDNT catch a channel cat or two while bass fishing. That lake's channel cats are the most "bass lure biting" catfish I've ever seen. And they love a shad colored crankbait!

Interesting. I have always heard that catfish spawn later in the spring than other species. Do they make "beds"?
I've seen bass and bluegill beds, they are both members of the sunfish family, what about Crappie? Do they use beds? Sandbass, Stripers, & Hybrids I believe they just disperse while running up tributaries. Does anyone know about Catfish and Crappie and spawning habits?

had one tail slap my frog yesterday in 1' of water! ive never seen it before until yesterday! tail came up out of the water and smacked my frog! [censored]! it was a big catfish, too!

Had one eat a frog last weekend at Lake Leon. 11lbs.

I thought I had big mama for a little bit. Pretty comical
