I had some 17lb XPS bass pro shops and this stuff is terrible. What the best flurocarbon for the money or should I just not be cheap and get seagar?

Bass Pro 15 and 20 are both good. 17 is not. Something is wrong with that size line. White Peacock from Balsax is the best. Yes, even better than Seaguar. BUT Seaguar is still VERY VERY good. You might even try Red Label for a slightly lower price.

I was told that Bass Pro XPS and Seaguar Red Label are the exact same line, and just put on different spools at the factory. Red Label is good, but will need conditioner put on it from time to time. I prefer Sunline Shooter & Sniper.

I've never had a problem with Berkley Vanish 17#, I do spool it with conditioner and on occasion.

I second Seaguar (Blue Label). Its a little more pricey, but I think it is worth it.

Can't go wrong with red Label "for the money". There are much better/expensive options out there.

When fluro is called for, I use Seagar Tatsu. It is easily the best I've used. I actually think the higher cost is offset a lot by not having to cut off as much as other fluros due to abrasions, nicks and kinks.

FC Sniper is my favorite, but have been respooling lately with Seagar Red Label after I cleaned out Walmart when they had it on sale. It's very good line.
