Just wondering if anyone is catching shallow crappie at RR and also how what is the water condition after the last rains. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I have heard some (not many) reports of fish being shallow but have not heard where. There should be fish in all stages right now depending on the area of the lake. I hope this helps.

We have caught a few shallow, a few on structure, and a few on brush piles. Mostly dinks. They are biting better than the black bass for sure.

I just got home from RR. They are biting shallow on minnows as well as everything else. I caught a mixed bag. Had three break my line as well. May be time for some new wire. Although one that did break my line was a massive large mouth. Jumped clear out of the water and me being an idiot had my drag set too tight and lost him. Kicking myself for that one. I fished the west banks, central of the lake. Came home with 5 crappie and a small channel for lunch.

Pink and chartreuse jigs and minnows are what we had luck on. Cleaned 18 fish, and all but 5 had eggs.
