What is the best technique/lure selection to catch bass on beds when you can visually see them and they will not bite?

Best glasses available with different lenses for weather conditions.
When they want bit I use a 3/8 oz. drop shot. I want the weight to stick where I stop it. Lift the rod tip high keeping the Senko hovering over the bed. I have also been successful with the Wacky rig weighted hook with Zoom Finesses worm.

Or they just inhale the swimbait.

Cast net...typically the 6 or 8 footers are easiest to throw and get the job done easily smile Sorry I'm just not much of a bed fisherman but when I do I typically use a large lizard in a darker color.

I've had good luck with a texas rigged creature or lizard. flip it beyond the bed and try to bump the fish with it. they usually get mad pretty quick and then it's game on. if they don't seem to want the lizard after a few bumps, i'll flip an unweighted fluke in there.

Swim bait
Jumbo tube to make them mad, then throw just about anything tx. rigged back in there.
Drop shot like Donald described.
Senko tx. rigged weightless.

As you can see lots of ideas and opinions, they all work. It really comes down to the individual and his ability. Keep it simple, small Tx rigs work as a standard. Yes any bait on the market could provoke a bite at the right time but that also depends on who's holding the fishing rod. A locked on fish will bite a piece of gum if flipped in there right. Lots of practice and watching fish in the spring will go a long way in learning how to sight fish.

One thing I've learned about bedding bass. If the bedding bass doesn't nose down on any of your baits, it's probably not going to take any bait you put in it's face. Just move on because your wasting your time.

also, each bass act very different on a bed and just because one bait worked for one bass, that doesn't mean it's going to work for the next one.
