Heading to Crystal Beach next month for some fishing and the crab festival in my RV. I am in DFW and don't really want to go through Houston and Galveston. Would it be worth heading south through Winnie?

Yep. Stop at the SEA PONY in Winnie to bait up. Say HI to Rick. He's good folks will take care of you and has a ton of local knowledge. Good luck.

if you have e-z tag take the toll roads around Houston, then i-10 to Winnie. don't even entertain the idea of the ferry on a week end.

Great! Thanks for the info. I just hate getting stuck in traffic with a 30 foot vehicle.

I agree, 45 down to the Hardy toll road, 8 around to I-10, I-10 east to Winnie, then on down to High Island, west to Crystal beach.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space!

I usually get the po-boy, but their red beans & rice really looks good also.
