I pull up to the ramp and a Tracker boat on the trailer at the ramp with the Grandparents, two boys(13yrs) and some other gents. I went to pay the fee and the grandmother comes up and starts to tell me the story. They just bought the boat that day and wanted to take the grandkids fishing. So gramps launches the boat and while and tied up at the dock it started to sink. The other gents saw what was going on and one jumped in the water and put a rag in the hole to stop any more water from entering the boat, and put the plug in the wrong port. While I was getting my boat ready the grandparents came over and started asking me questions on some of the function or operations of the boat. I had just sat in 635 and I-30 traffic and was ready to go fishing but they needed my help. So I went over the do's and don't and the operations and live wells, about 40mins worth and he was ready to launch. I asked if he wanted me to back him to launch, the reply. Were from Minnesota and we done this many times before. Hummm, OK and a bunch went though my mind at that point. Well I asked if they needed anything else and they said they were good so I went on my joyful way.

For the most part there are some idiots out there but I would pretty much bet that there is no one that at least one time hasn't forgot to put the plug in or put it in the wrong place. Now what is really stupid is to forget to take the tie downs off the back like I did this weekend.

Just have your partner gun the boat.

oh, did the plug before, I believe once, maybe twice and lesson learned. but I more concerned about their safety more then anything.

Don't feel alone, We all have done this before, if you haven't just wait you will

I've done the drain plug twice(different boats and once it never made it off the trailer) and the back strap once(left one side and had undone the other on my walk around and got distracted!). It will happen if it's never happened to you before just a matter of time!

People need to start leaving a plug I the bilge area in case you forget you can just plug it from the inside and get back to the ramp or just leave it plugged internally
