OP PKfishin TFF Team Angler P Joined: Sep 2012 Posts: 3,462 Texas	I'm having trouble keeping my Rapala fillet knife sharp when filleting fish. Not an issue with crappie but if I keep a sandbass I have to re-sharpen every fish. Interested to see what anyone does to keep knives sharp. John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. ChuChu1 TFF Team Angler C Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 3,606 Gonzales, Tx	One thing that may help is a different angle on the edge. I sharpen mine to a 17� but I don't cut any bones with my fillet knife. You might try a 25� edge. Won't be scalpel sharp but will do a good job. Snowflakes and entitled brats will be the doom of America!

I have cleaned 75 sandbass with mine, w/o having to resharpen (I did resharpen, after I finished though). Oh, I am a Lansky fan also.

I keep a Rapala knife in the door pocket of my truck that has cleaned hundreds of fish and rarely sharpened.
