I really tried to express how great it felt to watcher her swim away in the video. It was the second best part (behind reeling her in). Knowing that we kept her alive and well so that she can go on to do her thing was honestly better than having the cash put in my hand. Great picture of your PB by the way. I love when folks tell me that there aren't any good fish on Pool!

Congrats on a True Giant Bass! That is a fish of a lifetime. Too many take the word from somebody else that their fish is a DD without taking it in to get it certified. Sadly, many times it is their guide. I know some folks will say, "It puts too much stress on the fish when you put them in the livewell and handle them so much when you weigh them." I will use Mark Stevenson's previous State Record for my case in point. That fish was was held up for pictures by half the folks in Wood County! Transported all over the country and finally to Springfield Missouri where she lived out her life at Bass Pro. She finally died at the age of approximately 20 years from old age and natural causes. Good for you for actually taking it to get an accurate weight on her. Too many folks call a 7.5 pounder a DD these days. It irritates me because it dilutes how truly special it is when someone catches and actual DD. Just my opinion, that and $3.00 will buy you a cup of coffee.

Thanks man. I'm still weighing options on the mounting and taking your advice about doing my research.

Congrats! I just caught my first DD last weekend and I released her also. It was awesome to watch her swim away. I am having a replica made, it is gonna cost me but I really wanted to commemorate the catch. CONGRATS!
