Could someone meet up with me and help me figure out why I can't catch a carp?

I have been to this one particular pond at least 5 times now and there have been carp rooting around feeding every single time and I haven't been able to hook into one.
I have to be doing something wrong.
Would someone be willing to meet up with me at this spot and help me figure out what I'm doing wrong? It's in Richardson.

could be that the fish are on a specific prey in those waters? Matching the hatch so to speak can be just as important with carp from what I have read. I have witnessed first hand changing flies on a good day and lower catch rate. Change back to other fly and game on again to the same active carp.. Any further details as to what fly you are throwing? Casting accuracy to the fish? Etc... I'm sure a local DFW guy will help you out.

So I am sure by posting this there will be some who say the opposite. I have caught carp and buffalo on several different flies and I really do not think the fly matters. I know some fly shops sell a (carp fly or carp buster) but i personally think its hogwash. Everytime I have caught one I have put the fly right in front of the fish and all of the time it has been near the bottom. The carp came by and sucked it up as he was feeding. Now that being said, I'm sure there are time when anglers have had one rise or hit a fly near the surface, but I have never seen it. Carp are there own deal, so in my short novice experience that is my take on it. I have asked several long time Texas fly fishermen and they gave me the same advice!

Yeah I hadn't caught one for about a year until yesterday and that was on a bead head stonefly nymph. It seems like you crack the code and you'll think you've figured them out, and then zip. Nothing. I've found it difficult to translate any specifics about what I've learned from one place to another. They're bizarre. Like they're moody or something.
Generally... it's on the bottom but not always. Something with legs but not always. But once they spook, the whole pool or creek within 100yds loses their minds.. but not always. Creek carp seem infinitely harder to fool than lake carp, and clear water makes it almost impossible.
This carp yesterday crept up to me in about a foot of water after I'd spooked his friend. I flicked the nymph at him and he actually turned on it and pursued it. In a super clear creek. Go figure.
