Anybody using a power pole micro on a smaller boat (not a kayak)? Mine is a 17' G3 and was wondering how well it'd do for me.

I was wondering the same thing. My boat is less than the 1500 lb limit. Can you use two in tandem. Much cheaper option and will fit in my garage.
Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff.

Would be great except for the damn thing sticking 10 feet in the air when it wasn't down.

You can use the search feature on YouTube to find a few videos. I know one guy installed one on a 17 foot tracker and has a few good videos reviewing it

I posted about this earlier this year before I went to a bigger boat...I had a 18 ft aluminum skeeter... the consensus was they do not work that well. Search the forum for the thread... I know this is a vague post, but hope it helps with the decision making journey! Good luck.

I was just looking at those a week ago. Was trying to figure out if it would work on my tracker 175.

I run a G3 Sportsman 17 I run the micro power after doing all the research you are trying to do now.
It does stick up yes, but I am fully capable of pulling it out and tucking it under the passenger rail when needed. it has caught a few tree limbs but has remained in tact. I bought the mounting clamp versus drilling holes in the aluminum and it has served me well, and it can be transferred to my sons Kayaks.
In moderate conditions it works pretty darn well, with only one you do get a swing that can be frustrating but can be worked with. Yes, you can sync two and run them in tandem.
I would pay attention to the weight ratings vs your boats weight.
For the cost differential of Micro vs Talon/PP I am pleased with the decision I made. Is it perfect, no, did the price point and the performance match up for me and my family, yes.
