I have been using the LFC 5-166 for tx-rigs since back in late 90's. Started with original silver rod series. Have now switched to a 7'3" in another manufacturer but anytime I get on piers or around shallow areas pitching I go back to the LFC 5-166.

I like my T7 Amistad for heavy stuff. I don't really care for the ST, or anything with the micro guides.

I'm thinking with the Falcon rods you would need to go to a medium weight like the Mansfield cast to get a comparable feel to the Champion 703.
