I'm gearing up to get a power pole at the end of the month. I'm trying to decide between an 8ft or 10ft. Any suggestions, advice, or experiences to share would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have 2 8s they seem fine. Are there times 10 would help sure, then you would wish you had 12 or whatever.

I personally don't have poles but all the times I've been in a boat that does the 8s do just fine. I have a buddy that has 10s and he hates them. Can't fit the boat in the garage.

I've had both. If for a bass boat, I would definitely stick to 8s - the 10s move more. I have 10s on a 24 foot bay boat. If I wanted a bass boat as still as I could get it on a lake, in my experience, the 8s would do a better job.

I'm about to get a set of 10ft Blades. Had a buddy with 10s and he said they flexed more than 8s. But I talked to the Power Pole guys at the Classic Expo and they have addressed those issues. They've beefed up the bracket on the 10s so they are a lot more sturdy. Another buddy of mine just got a new pair of 10's and he said they are stout. He can shake his whole boat from them.

As long as you don't have to worry about low clearance on anything (getting under bridges on your favorite lakes, into your garage, etc...) go with the 10ft!

If the new ones are quite a bit less flexible, that changes what I said.

I have a zx200 with one 10 ft blade.Put it on about 2yrs ago and I absolutely love it.If you don't get the 10ft blade the 1st time you use the 8 doesn't reach the bottom you're gonna wish you had the 10 footer. And as far as low clearance garages mine fits fine.Trick is too lower the blade with the remote as you're backing in.Trust me it works. I initially bought 2 but ended up taking 1 back because I never used it. Especially bed fishing. If you position your boat properly based on the direction of the wind 1 works fine.4k vs 2k just saying. [img:center]http: [/img]

If your not wet on poles, get 12ft tallons. They are small, dont require a separate pump, and fold down onto the back of the boat for storage.

I have twin 8's on my boat but many times wish I had Tens. If you're gonna do it, I would go with the Tens.

If you need further help deciding go to Youtube and watch the videos on Power Pole. Pretty crazy what they can stand up to.
