Ive heard there are still trees and stuff in the south end bellow the bridge. What is the best way to run down in that end? If we go anywhere north we are idling.

Lots of open water on the south end so it depends on how far you want to run. If you're going to run all the way to 155 bridge you might as well launch there. Several good coves to fish within a couple of miles from the ramp on the far south end so no need to run far. Look at Google Earth and decide where you want to fish and launch.
