It's finally the time of year where fishing only gets better and better! Mason(my 4 year old) and I like to make the trip out to crappie fest each year to have a little us time and try to find a few good fish. This year was different, we got up and drove to Fork to practice Friday at 4am but had to leave at noon to come back for a Tball game. We found our fish and headed back. Saturday morning we were back at Fork. The first two spots I pulled up to I caught 2 fish on a strait Bonehead Brushglider. Minnows were zero help to me during the tournament. I couldn't get bit with one. We had a few in the 1.80s and 1.90s early, but our better bite was around noon. Mason was sitting with a 1-56 and at 12 he stuck a 1.90. About 2 minutes later I stuck a 2.15. Mason ended up taking 1st in the 10 and under division. I couldn't have been more proud for him or of him! I love watching kids with so much passion for fishing! There's a great group of junior anglers coming up! Thanks to CAT and all of the volunteers it took to put on such a well run event!

Ray Roberts is getting better and better by the day! I'm catching fish shallow and deep and everywhere in between. Most of my fish are coming on Bonehead Brushgliders in purple and chartreuse. Another good color right now is black and pink. I've been blessed with many return customers is why I haven't been posting much! But if you're looking to get on the water, send me a message or give me a shout. Things are getting really good! We had a 2.66 out of Ray Roberts this past week! I have some weekend stuff that just got rearranged and dates changed so if you need a weekend, I have a couple of days now for April available! Here's some pics from the past week or so.
