+ 50 on Walmart battery's . Remember, like everything else in Walmart, it's not made by Walmart . They only sell it and warranty it and they do a good job of it. If you maintain and use as directed they will last as long as others and at a reasonable price. I just replaced all 3 of my trolling batteries from Walmart. The manufacture date on the stickers........3/10. Definitely got my moneys worth out of them!

I switched to Optima and am going on three years and they have the same kick as when they were new. I hope to get a lot more years out of them. I used to use Walmart and about three years was all I ever seemed to get from them.

Agree with having a quality charger. I have a Minnkota 3 bank 10 amps per bank.

I think most are about the same, I've tried many many brands. Keep 'em charged and maintained.

I tried optima batteries one year back when Cabelas sold them, but ended up having issues with them. I've tried walmart batteries, but had to replace one within a year, and another at the beginning of the next season. I have now used interstate batteries for about 10 years, and couldn't be happier with them. I can get 3-4 years out of them before they start having problems. If you charge them when you get back from the lake, and maintain them about once a month, they will not give you any problems for a long time. I won't spend my time or money on anything but Interstate.

I was a fan of Trojan batteries for a long time, but after several batteries not lasting and then being out of production when I went to replace them I switched to Optima's about 5 years ago. My optima's have performed as expected. They are still in my boat. BUT they do not have the power that they did when they were new. I find myself using between 70-100% of my trolling motor power at the BEGINNING of the day! By the end of the day I am using 100% of my trolling motor power and I am just crawling along. I am fixing to replace all of my batteries and DEKA AGM's are what I am going to use.
