8lb braid with 4-6lb leader works great for me .. if they break me off I got fish story about the big one that got a way. The elusive 30 lb hybrid that I almost landed, fought for 30 minutes and as I see it lying on its side as I reel it in close to the bank it took its last gasp of air and shook its big head staring at me and said adios amigo....not today...not today!

Did anybody check out the creek today? I was thinking about trying it out this evening but don't want to waste my time.

I heard someone already limited out twice this morning. On mosquito bites On a more serious note it's fishing and not catching. Just go out there and get your line wet. Someone really texted me about limiting out early this morning so bite is on!

What are y'all using as bait? I must be doing something wrong. I've been using 60lb braid with a 12lb leader and a little snell with live minnows and haven't gotten a single bite. Could someone shed some light on this? Not sure if I should use a swim bait, live minnows, and how to rig the minnows up if that's what y'all are using. Thanks.

You're not joking aren't you? 60LB braid? I don't even use that size for stripers at DenisonDam? Like I said I use 8 lb braid with 6 lb leader. If I was to use live bait I put a very light weight so the minnow can swim and get some attention. I was fishing last week using minnows (yes I cheated lol!) and the guy across the bank was using minners too. His dies within a couple of minutes and mine swims happily all day long. You want you minners almost freelined. Anywho I honestly think your lines are too heavy and minners are not happily swimming. I hook mine in the front lips. thin wire hooks as well. Funny thing about these live baits, it's been years since i used them and when Redd Man told me to use em I tried jigging it after my first cast lol...Good luck guys have fun, beware of snakes and those locos some guy at the creek was using snake.....yes..snake...he killed one along the trail and started using it as cut bait Good bait for piranha

I know bass fishing and catfishing like the back of my hand, but haven't been sand bass or hybrid fishing in a long time. I had no idea that the type of line you use can affect fishing that much. Thank you for your help!

we did good too. 16 total between two of us for 2 1/2 hour. we are satisfied. fluke under a float didn't work for me, but moondinger saved my day. I mite have to get more moondingers from moon.
why walmart bought spinner doesn't spin? I mean half the time it didn't spin. is it line or non-sensitive rod?
