Is there a safe way to run from the highway 66 ramp into the river. From what it looks like theres tons of trees up in that area. Ive also heard you have to run to get through the river mouth to get in.

Best bet would be to follow someone who knows how to run it. I personally have never ran it.

Best bet would be to follow someone who knows how to run it. I personally have never ran it. my problem with that is what if its someone who has no clue what they are doing

Make sure you have good insurance. Trim it high and let it fly.

Ive seen guys run it but those are ray hubbard legends... when you get to the golf course point, shut down and idle through an opening that you will see. It is between the point and the old concrete piller that is standing. Once you go through that about 100yrds you can get back on plane and run to the powerlines. You have to swing around to the left a little (nothing sharp just a little half C turn). It is shallow the whole way though. Taking off and shutting down in less that 6 feet of water in most places. Dont trim down to get off plane unless you have a hydrolic jackplate. That helps me a lot.
If you want to follow someone just ask them before they take off if they have done it before. Most people that go back there have been back there a few times if not a lot of times.

It's 1 right, 1 left and a slight left and you're in!  I have seen lots of people run it with the lake at the level it is now and think they are good. Lake drops 2-6" and they are no good, they just do not know it. Just so you do not think a lot of people just say it's dangerous to protect "their spots", this is laying in the path, that 90% of the people I see that think they know how to run it. I took that pic in Sept 2011 when the lake was 6-7 feet low

I go a little left, sweeping right then a hard left to the first tree then come off plane unless the river is clear then I blow by all the Tommy flippin' water to the split and get busy. ***If you decide to try and idle in there are many stumps that people put rebar in to hold pvc pipes marking stumps. I haven't been up this year because word is Lavon is fishing way better. The dry years put a hurt on the river. Gar and bofin hole now.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
