Since this is a single angler tournament have a plan to keep your fish marked or separate from others fishing in your boat. You must weigh in only the crappie that was caught by you. I'm sure this will be a question on the polygraph. One way to do this is with colored safety pins. Maybe others have good ideas about this that want to share. Please Read the rules www.crappiefest.comAlso please remember registration will happen at Minnow Bucket Marina BUT Weigh in will be at Lake Fork Trophy Lures. I'm sure there will be 1 or 2 that show back up at The Minnow Bucket

Don't forget to bring a chair to watch the weigh in.

There will be a food truck at the weigh-in from Sidekicks Restaurant in Emory. Don't know what they'll be serving, but everything I've gotten from Sidekicks is always good.

As mentioned in the other post, weigh in one fish alive or fresh dead. Best to keep your weigh in fish alive so there's no doubt about the fish. The Tournament Director has sole discretion of accepting a fish for weigh in. If a fish is questionable and someone decides they wish to weigh that fish, that person will be subject to a polygraph. Fish that have turned color, pink/white gills, stiff, ect. will not be accepted for weigh in. One fish can easily be kept alive in a 30 qt or larger ice chest with water. Just change the water every hour.
Don't forget the four mystery fish drawings. Everyone has a chance to win something.
And there are two junior angler divisions, 10 and under, and 11-17 yrs of age. No entry fee for junior anglers.

I sure wish I still had my boat. That's the good thing about CrappieFest you don't need a boat. You can fish from the bank or dock. There are many good fishing piers located on Fork. The lake Record white Crappie came from the Minnow Bucket Marina fishing Pier.

Hey Ken, I'm guessing parking will be tighy. Will the best Western let us park there? NO! Do not park at the Best Western. Lake Fork Tackle is located at 515 and 69. When you get to the intersection, look for the flag guy directing you to parking. Most of the parking will be at the business is behind Lake Fork tackle. They will be providing some sort of shuttle service.

As Pat said, DO NOT park at the Best Western. Lake Fork Tackle has been working with area businesses close to them and said businesses will allow participants to use their parking lots. Also, best not to park on the sides of HWY 69 or 515. That might get you a ticket. Parking on the side streets will be allowed. Should be people there directing the parking.
There will be a fish holding tank at the weigh-in. Fish not kept by participants will be released back into Lake Fork.
Pat Martin will be at the Minnow Bucket (tomorrow) Thursday afternoon 5-6 pm for registration also. March 30 was listed on the flyer and CAT will accommodate that date for registration, as well as Friday afternoon 5-6pm and Saturday morning 6-7am. Plenty of chances to sign up.
Fishing is Saturday from 7am to 1pm and you must be in the weigh in line by 2pm.
Come on out and enjoy the fun. I'll see y'all there.

Something else that was discussed at the CAT meeting last night: The scales will be open starting at 8:00am and will stay open until the last fish is weighed. You do NOT have to wait and "be in line" at 2:00pm. That's just the latest you can be in line to weigh-in. Many people will likely be bringing fish to weigh in all morning long. If you've got a good fish, better to be safe than sorry and get on up there a little early. Sure hate that I'm gonna miss it. Should be an awesome turnout!

You'd think best western would be willing to help out since a few tournament fishermen are staying there.
