After reading your story it took approximately 9+ shots to get you to leave, someone needs to learn how to shoot

So you are saying you have found some big bass on beds up there I would think someone else found some beds and didn't want anyone on them. Was fishing in Magee the other day and heard a lot of gun fire. Nothing around us but you could tell it was large caliber. Probably in 223. .223 is a small caliber round...50 cal is a large caliber... Perhaps someone is protecting "their bass"...personally, I am not interested in getting into a gun fight over a fishing hole...that is the very definition of dumb... I suspect it was probably someone protecting their illegal activity from detection...just be glad they were not serious about harming you and were just warning you to leave.

Chl and pistols normally aren't very effective against shooters with rifles that you cant see...Remember the show the Rifleman?

Sometimes ppl are just target practicing in your directing and they have ear plugs in so when you yell, honk or shoot back they just keep shooting away!

I thought it might be kids because it was at the end of the local schools spring break. And over the years I have never heard of anything like that in that area before.
Could be visiting kids or local kids. I doubt adults would be that dumb to do that in an area where the game wardens are known to frequent.

Even if it was accidental, someone needs education on knowing where bullets are going when they shoot. Any idiot around Lake Fork knows that shooting toward the water this time of year isn't smart shooting. I myself don't believe it was accidental.

On that matter, we both agree...bullet safety while shooting is most important...even if intentional, the shooter needs to know what is behind his intended target!
