Lowrance Transducer placements

Would like to get some input regarding the placement of the transducers. Simple question, in the configuration shown in the attached pictures the two transducers are separated by 16.5". Will the configuration provide the right overlay of signals to ensure a good display on the graphs, or should I place them within an inch or two of each other. My concern is that if I place them within an inch or two of each other the then 83/200mhz transducer get fairly close to the lower unit.

The way your post is written it sounds like you are going to try to get them to work together on one unit.

The sonar transducer will work better at high speed if located further away from the engine. Call a service dealership that installs electronics for the best explanation. 12-inches off center of the boat is best. Make sure you get it level.

You're not supposed to have a transducer on the left side of the motor/lower unit. But as far as your original question goes. As long as you don't get prop turbulence then the distance is fine. (Assuming there is not a step below that we can't see in the pic).
Now that lss2 might have some trouble shooting to the left with the lower unit in the way.
