I never had a problem with folks posting pics of their catches. There are hundreds of places to catch fish on Rowlett creek and those who post pics never tell which hole they got them from. I doubt if they fish the same spots each and everytime. The creek changes every year and every rain and there are no hotspots that produce day in and day out. Sandbass are simple fishes to catch but if you don't have the right technique on Rowlett creek you will go home empty handed. Trust me because I learned this lesson the hard way. My first year I caught 1 fish on four trips. I caught that one fish on my very first cast and fishless after that. How to fish Rowlett creek has been posted many times over. The problem is many ignore the tips and do it their way. They then go home empty handed and frustrated. Tarponfly gives instructions every year and every year folks post about not catching fish while a few are slaying them. If you hire him you will find he does exactly as he says. Catching fish will be secondary. The most important thing you will gain is confidence. Time on the creek will build your confidence and once you figure it out you will catch fish year after year. It's the small details that makes the difference. Pay close attention and get you some.

This afternoon on Firewheel about 40 cars, good luck finding a spot. All hotspots are loaded with fishermen casting into same hole. Did see about 8 limits taken so they're in there. Caught a few upstream. Scout and if you can't find a spot, make your own spot!

I never understood these type of behavior too. I fish to some guys that sounded like a bunch of teenage girls. I prefer peace and quiet. I think the loud noise above have affect on the bites, what do you guys think ?

I think creek fish are easily spooked. They are pretty vulnerable there. Out in the lake though, people beat on their boats with rubber mallets, and the fish run to the sound.
Fishermen do funny things. They install slient decking materials to be stealthy, but send a 3ft roller into the bank they are about to fish because they come in so fast.

Fish can't hear. No ears.
They feel you coming through vibrations.
I can do a cannonball in the creek on top of the hole I'm fishing. Swim back to the bank stand up and catch a fish within a couple minutes. They don't really care. Think of all the carp that are in there jumping around, that does not spook them.
Last year we were netting shad in a very small hole. We catch 30 or 40 Sandies and throw them back but keep the bait. Immediately put on a bait and cast into that same hole and instantly hook up.
If you've ever been in my boat, you will see me slapping the water with a rod making all kinds of noise and beating the boat with a broomstick making noise to attract them to me. Every once a while you can slap the water in front of you were in the creek and sometimes that gets them going a little bit.
So in conclusion, Sandy's don't care about noise when they're in the creeks. They're just there to make babies and eat
Your catch ratio will definitely go up if you drop down to 4 pound line. Is absolutely amazing people that give up trying on their own and come to me. Everybody has 6 to 12 pound mono on the rods. Do what you want think what you want use what you want. I just tell you what works best And you can go from there.

rude people alway's show up on weekend ,they don't even asking you and know you, when they saw you caught some fish just come down next to you about 3 feet going your front, left, right or use minnow's ,they did very good team work them force me to leave, when the season coming the fish is every where ,depends how many you want to caught, any way you want that spot just come early before ,thinking about if some body did that to them, that's right i don't like fishing for week end. I feel ya jimmy. Bout couple weeks ago we were killing em on a school of fishes. Dude came and stood right over em, even after we told him fishes were right near the bank. Well he threw some jigs at them and they didn't want any. (Karma) but it's expected cause we all share the creek. But manner is taught at a very young age some people were never taught. I met way more good people then the ill manner one. This nitwit 9point and his friends were standing in the water middle of the creek as I came to fish that same spot from the bank for less than 5 minutes and left, and it's over 30 feet away from them and still got complain that I have no courtesy and standing right where they were casting, talking about ill manner people . Did I jump to the water? No I was just standing from the bank. I left that spot after less than 5 minutes since they were too loud. I've been fishing the creek for over 20 years and been fishing with Carey many many times, fishing next to KungfuJimmy several time this year, knowing countless nice and courtesy fishermen. Last time I checked as fishing from the bank, I need to be courtesy with fellow fishermen and that is not standing too close, not casting over their lines, not talking to loud...etc and now I guess I need to add that not standing from the bank where people think the fish were there LOL. Next time if I ever see your face out there which I hope not, I will run away because I don't want to spook your fish LOL.
