For some reason the flat we normally fish this time of year hasn't been that good so A couple weeks ago I started hitting a few others I found on navionics. It has paid off well, I must say. It will be tough to top my trip tonight.

Hit the first spot and boated these two. I've pulled over a dozen fish from 22-45 lbs out of this spot in the last two weeks.

I wanted to try a different spot I'd found so with no bite in about 30 min's I decided to move. I got setup and it was about 30min's before the first hit.

Just as I netted that fish another rod took off.

So I got this pic

After this one the bite stopped so I came home.

In all, I caught eight fish tonight, all released, the other three being 3lbs or less. It was an awesome night, the guy who cancelled on me is kicking himself now. My shoulder needs some Ibuprophen and I need some sleep.

Nothing like burying the hook in them and hearing them splashing out there in the darkness. The big challenge last night was wrestling them into the boat without tangling up in one of the other three rods that were out, or the anchor, or the shallow water anchor holding the back of the boat, then into the net. Managed to boat all of them last night by myself without any major tangles. Had one run me completely around the boat.

Also gotta love Team Catfish circle hooks. Every fish was unhooked without even using pliers. Just popped the hook right out of the corner of the mouth.

Who makes a fishing scale that reads up to 100lbs?

American Weigh 110 scales are the toughest cheap scales I've found and you can have them certified. I like this model but they also have a T- handle version.
