I just spoke with Judy owner of power tackle rods. She said it was a big company verse a little company type deal and they could not offer what shimano could. The company will continue to offer the best customer service and rods that they can! Thanks for the support! This!!! I promise you it was not an easy decision for him. Besides Power Tackle rods being phenomenal rods. Judy and Tim are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Kinda like AMart leaving MegaBass? So who did Aaron Martins go with ? That happened a few years back. He helped launch his signature rods with Enigma. He recently he signed on as a consultant type role with Duo.

I doubt he had any issues. All about the money and power tackle being a local south texas company cant pay the big money shimano can. Power tackle rods are amazing. He must have been offered something too good to pass up. I agree.

Combs just picked up a Kayak sponsor too. I think he made a smart decision to capitalize on all the hype he is receiving for this tourny and cash in for the future. It's a gamble to wait till after the Classic. As a fan of his, I just hope it doesn't distract him too much and still makes the Super Six.

You have to wonder about the long term though. He could have stayed with Power Tackle forever potentially. Look at some of the other guys that have went full Shimano, it seems like the deals fizzle out faily quick. Perfect example is just before the Classic that Pace won he left Castaway which he had been with for a long time, joined the Shimano team, won the Classic and now just a couple years latter he is no longer with Shimano.
