Not observing the "no wake" zone ... I wasn't on plane
& best of all ....
...... the guy that hits your trailer & doesn't leave you a note

I experienced all 3 this morning at Lake Athens.
The lights and no wake non-observers were even part of a tournament group
The person that hit my trailer did so hard enough to push it 10 feet into the trailer beside me in such a way that made it look like the innocent person was the one that hit my trailer. Even the Athens police thought the angle was strange but the way the trailer was I was blaming an innocent person.

The jake-leg that actually hit my trailer & didn't leave a note thinks he/she got away with something.
You know- Karma is a bi-tch and she will get them one day.

The fishing was actually pretty decent for a change, watermelon magic rigged wacky style produced 10 nice fish in 2.5 hours.

Athens is a madhouse, won't catch me out there other than Tues. night tourney.
Lights on at the boat ramp is a losing battle, same problem at The Villages this a.m.
Add this one. When your in line to launch, Get Your Boat Ready, not put a light in take a drink of milk then a bite of your breakfast then raise your motor and repeat process, put plug in repeat process, I finally just went around him.

That just makes it tough on those of us that live here in Athens

Athens is nuts fished it for the first time this year 2 weeks ago from 5-dark there were people parked in places I had never seen pretty crazy

I guess I missed all that fun. We put in at 5:50 and didn't see any of that. Didn't see the trailer issue either. Hate that happened. There were two clubs on the lake today. It didn't seem that crowded on the water but there were a crazy amount of trailers at the ramp. I'm glad I won't be back to Athens for a while.

I know what I'm about to say won't be very comforting to you, but that sort of thing was going on all the way back in the 70's when I used to fish tournaments.
Just goes to show people have taught their kids and grand kids well, and the gene pool is completely and statewide contaminated.

I guess we can keep mentioning it here and doing our best to educate on the lights thing. Signs posted at ramps would probably help in a "Rules for Launching" format.

Your trailer getting smacked is in a whole different league from being ignorant of good launching etiquette and I would consider it criminal.

Posting on a forum website will never solve any of the problems above. Nor many other problems on the lakes. Because everyone that visit this type of site, has never done or would do anything like that. Atleast I've never seen it.

I have bought a truck and when the gear shift is in gear , forward or reverse my headlights automatically come on . Can't wait for some [censored] to say something to about it. Might get my old [censored] whooped but I am going to laugh in there face.

I have no idea how to override that feature, but there is probably a way to disable it...

Turn your truck off and click the emergency brake 2-3 clicks on. Turn on truck and see if lights are on. This may disable your auto headlights and the 2-3 clicks of the brake isn't enough to engage them.

It works on my new truck

That should do the trick...
