Not hardly any talk about gigging up here near galveston. That's not saying the flatfish are NOT here, they are always here. Certainly a lot depends on the weather.....wind at night and water clarity. Water temps up here are at the magic 70* mark....Find ya some skinny water near the marshes and a good night to go and try...........they are there.

Down here in Rockport Port Aransas flounder gigging has been seeing steady limits on trips some nights are faster than others but my trips dont come in till we have our limits of flounder.We gig limits even in jan and feb or any month of the year except Nov. Only thing that holds us back is 35mph winds and highier anything 30 and under its game on. http://nocturnalassault.com
