I am visiting family near a pretty large, slow-moving river this weekend. I'm interested in going out for flatheads for the first time, and would like advice on where to go for them this time of year. I'll be using a live bullhead on a Carolina rig.
Just looking for advice on where to throw it!
Thanks ya'll.

Under log jams, undercut banks, at night look for gravel bars Good luck!

Thanks Chu!
I'll definitely be going at night. I looked at a map of the river and there's a spot I'm seeing with a couple wingdams near an island. Would that be about right for a place to go?

I'd use live bluegill, shad, or big shinner minnows over bull heads. I've heard flathead eat bull heads, but I've never had any luck on them at all, bluegill out fish them every time in my experience.
