Have about 5 hours this Saturday and want to get out of Cypress and hit another lake. Any thoughts between Monticello or Sandlin - have not fished either.

I plan to be on Sandlin this weekend. Only been on it once. Staying on the East end so will mostly fish water on that end. Can anybody share what's working on that lake? Also, any tips/warning on running that lake would be appreciated.

If you are staying on the east end (east of the RR bridge), the lake is wide open with the exception of two humps on the west side of Fly Ash cover which are surrounded by 4x4 posts somebody drove in a few years ago.

Thanks, ABF. We are staying East of the railroad bridge. Not sure where Fly Ash is, but i'll stear clear of any posts I see.
Is there good reason to run over past the 21 bridge to the West end? Unless it seems there are no fish on the East end, I imagine we will stay East of 21

sandlin has been really good i dont know much bout monti i never really get out there Dillon that is quite an understatement coming from someone who just crushed another BLT wining stringer over 20 lbs there this past weekend. Me and Craig just could not get onto those type of quality fish even though we did have a blast catching the fish we did for a couple of weekends. Congrats to your and your wife on another great bag of fish.

Unless it seems there are no fish on the East end, I imagine we will stay East of 21 Based on this post, please define your thoughts on the "east end". I am concerned about different definitions in the post. East of the Railroad Bridsge is clear as stated. From there to the 21 bridge can be a minefield!

Also, any tips/warning on running that lake would be appreciated. Since you only have 5 hours, I would stay on the east side. The reason I mentioned the RR Bridge is west of this bridge you do have to pay attention to where you run. If you are east of the bridge your good. Fly Ash cove is the biggest cove on the east side of the lake. If you put in at the Titus County ramp, you are in Fly Ash cove.
