Looking at rods around 6'3 to 6'6 Medium power, fast to extra fast action
On a budget......otherwise I might go E6X or Crucial....or similar
How do the above Fenwick compare to the St. Croix line - (Triumph, Mojo, BassX) and the Shimano Clarus?
Also looking at Medium Lights on the above also. Not a fan of anything over 6'6 to 6'9 and not sure anything under 6'3 or so would be what feels good for my use.
Grip feel and balance are important, tend to prefer split-grip but open to hearing from others on it.
Thanks folks.

Guess few use spinning gear.
Anyone have experience with the above in baitcast?

I fished my new St Croix 6 footer, MH and fast tip last evening for the first time. For me, it is an experiment and I'll report back results later. But, I have it strung up with heavy braid on a 4000 reel, plan to use it for close in applications from my kayak.
I also have a St Croix 7' ML Avid Inshore and I use it for finesse plastics with a 2500 series reel.
And, a 7' Medium Fast tip for slightly larger finesse stuff.
Finally, I have a St Croix 6'9" ultralight I use for panfish with a 1000 series reel.
All are good rods. Many consider St Croix to be in the top 4 of the big rod makers. And, they have several models in the just above $100 range as I recall.

I bought a Fenwick HMG about three months ago, it is an ultra light I use for bream and crappie, I really like it, it feels good and is balanced well with the reel I have on it. It has a full cork handle and is very smooth and comfortable. The St. Croix's I have handled in the store did not feel good to me, that is why I went with Fenwick.
Don Chumley If I ain't fishing, I ain't happy. But mostly I'm happy. I love being retired, the check is in the mail. Mt. 6:33

bass pro 6,6,carbon lite med. works great for 100 bucks or less. all star wacky worm rod at 69 dollars is also a good rod that will do it all. combine these with 2500 shimano reel of your choice ,prices can vary, but reasonable, and your set!no need to spend a fortune.

Thanks guys.
I have used a 6'9 BPS Carbon light but it's not stiff enough for reliable positive hook sets on larger fish it seems. That said the St. Croix I handled in ML, not positive which model felt stiffer, it seems like it was a 6'6" rod.
ET - there are many models of St. Croix, might try others than your store carries.
Fish art - yes, I have a Stradic FK and Ci4+ in 2500 waiting to be used....
Rick - what power is your drop shot rig?
Thanks folks, and good fishing!

Check out reel time rods, custom made at Lake Fork. The prices are very reasonable.
