Are the sandbass running yet in North Texas? I live on the Texas gulf coast and was planning on a trip around April 8th. Was wondering?

Yes they are.

Must be. I was crappie fishing on the north end of Possum Kingdom this week and one of the guides had a mountain of sand bass fillets on the cleaning station and an entire cooler of sandies left to go. I sure felt sorry for him. I've cleaned a few sand bass limits and pretty much call it a day after 12 fish now. That's all I want to clean. ( his clients were happy, but not helping)

I marked huge schools of sand bass in the cove where I launched. Water temp was 61. I would bet money I could have dropped a slab and fly in there and hooked up right away. Give it a week to 10 days of warm weather and your either fishing or missing the spring fishing.

Just getting started

Fish have been in the creeks in the DFW area since the first week of February.

I caught a limit on superbowl sunday in an undisclosed creek. They are still around.

Very few females have shown up in most creeks.

Got a month solid left. It still has yet to peak. Plus the Hybrids have not even shown up yet. When he gets here it should be Peaking out.
