Can anyone point me in the right direction to find some striper and sand bass on PK? My dad cancelled on me last week so I'm taking him out in the new boat on Monday. Any advice would be appreciated! The only places I've fished before were just north of Costello island. Thanks all!

If you want to catch fish, I'd hire a guide. All the guides have been slaying the stripers and sandbass. That said, It's a big lake and PK could dish out a skunk pretty easily. Water is muddy on the North side and clear toward the dam with temps between 59-62. Water temps are still a little cool.

If you cannot afford a guide, buy a few chartreuse and pearl Storm wild eyes and throw them in coves and points and especially where you see shad being chased. I thought I had run into some sandbass yesterday and tossed one of the wildeyes into some activity and pulled out a 24 inch striper.

Good luck. Try calling or messaging some of the guides. They might give you a tip. They certainly know where they are at right now.

1. Find some shad. Plastics work early but shad catch more stripers in the long run.
2. On PK you need to be able to sit in one spot because of its trees. Look for road beds etc that provide a place to fish next to the trees without actually being in the trees. Drift fishing is pretty hard on tackle.
3. Plenty of sand bass on the upper end of the lake. It has cleared considerably the last week or so.
Sandbass can almost always be caught on a slab & jig combo. Just vary the speed of you vertical jigging until you find what they want.
