I'm on temporary assignment in Georgia real close to this lake. Clear. cold water and loaded with spotted bass and a few largemouth. All I'm doing is from the bank with a chrome/black rattletrap. I'm catching the heck out of them. they are fat and strong.I usually get 5-10 in an hour and release most of them, but I did keep 4 out of about 40 and they are great eating. Anywhere from 2,5-5 lbs.They are on shallow windy banks gorging on shad.  [/URL]  [/URL]

I'm out of the country now but if you're still there in June I'd be happy to give you a backseat. That would be fantastic. I've fallen in love with the lake. Caught a striper from the bank the other day at the second bridge leaving town on the Cleveland highway. Also caught a largemouth around 4lb. Released.

It's a fun lake to fish. They love drop shot and top water. I really need to prefish Lake Oconee when I get back. You're more than welcome to come...it's not far and more like a Texas lake

Lanier and Carters are the only two lakes I've ever fished that took 30#'s or more to win and all with spots.

those spots in lanier are mean. Several times have I had 15lb busted when they made those mad runs to get into the brush. First tournament I fished I won second as the co angler with two fish and over 10lbs, both spots.

Loved fishing on Lanier! Bald Ridge Marina area and Mary Alice Park always produced fat spots.
