At Sandlin its pretty much stay in the middle of the lake. Same with the feeder creeks. If coming from the dam once you get past the Hwy 21 bridge you will need to go to the left. You will see the timber then turn back right and again stay in the middle and run all the back into the upper end.
But if your not sure then by all means idle....
Good luck
JT

I recall someone posting a google maps boat lane once on this site. Try a search and dig in some old posts. I believe it was a year ago or so. Here is what it looked like.

Great post Mr Harrell. Has anyone ever ran this firsthand to ensure accuracy? Don't mean to come across as skeptical just want to ensure everyone and everything stays safe.
Make every cast count!

I don't know about the way points but the path on the lake map is accurate. That's the way I run it. You can also run the south shore but you need to know where you are going and there is one point that I'll only run when the lake is at full pool (or close to it).

I've tried entering them. They either seem to be on the land somewhere nearby or don't fit the coordinate format on the unit. Decent chance I'm doing something wrong, though. If anybody has entered these successfully, let us know.

If anybody has entered these successfully, let us know. If your unit doesn't have a coordinate format selection then you can use this to convert the ones on the map. I did it for mine and was correct as I ran it several times last year. http://www.earthpoint.us/Convert.aspx

Great post Mr Harrell. Has anyone ever ran this firsthand to ensure accuracy? Don't mean to come across as skeptical just want to ensure everyone and everything stays safe. I made this path with a hand held unit in 2006. The lake was 10-11 ft low at the time. It was very obvious where you could and could not run. This trail was fine at 10 ft low. Also, lots of people ask about why it stops by the point up toward 1519. At 10 ft low, that be came pretty shallow with some random stumps in places that I used to run. I shut the path down there.

You can also run the south shore but you need to know where you are going and there is one point that I'll only run when the lake is at full pool (or close to it). You can run most of the South shore between 21 and RR Bridges. Be VERY CAREFUL on the west side of Cherokee point. Some bad stumps there. Also from Blue Tower going east for approx. 300 yds is a minefield.
