My ex fishing partner sent me a picture of his crappie catch last night. Said he was fishing Ray Roberts creeks.
Waiting on Bob Davis' next selfie

Creeks are a good bet before the rain hits tomorrow. After the rain, coves would probably be better.

Mike, Here's some ideas:
Hickory Creek below Old Alton Hickory Creek at FM2499 Hickory Creek downstream from FM1830 (Country Club Rd.) Clear Creek natural Heritage Center (Clear Creek and Elm Fork). Elm Fork below Ray Roberts Dam cross the bridge and walk down stream on the trail.
I haven't been out this year but these are usually some of the spots. Some will be covered up with sand bass as a bonus. If the fish are there, the cars will give it away. Good Luck!

I just need some crappie experience from an educated fisherman.. I have no clue what to do Mike if you are hitting the creeks, take a long pole 10ft or so, with a 1/16 jig, #4 or 6 hook and a similar sized bait rigged on the end to dabble the brush and bank edges...also, take a shorter pole 5- 7 ft rigged with a slip cork and jig for casting to stumps and brush tops purposes...good luck and good fishing! Note, you may only use one pole, as the fish will dictate which you use...but take them both, as it is usually a pretty good hike back to the truck AND it gives you a backup rig in case of rapture! And yes, on the creek...stuff happens. Use a fanny pack or back pack for your gear, with a five galllon bucket and a stringer...have a ten foot piece of parachute cord (or similar rope) to tie the stringer to a limb or tree...the bucket makes it easier to haul your fish back to the truck. Fish shallow water and tangles...the fish will likely be in the middle of the stuff, but they could be out in the middle as well... Oh yea, on the long pole, braid is essential, on the shorter pole you can probably get away with 6 or 8 lb test line.

As far as below RayBob, you can also go to 380 Greenbelt park and walk upstream. Good luck.

Go south and east. Like this every year. Most of the good reports that are not from fishing guides are coming from lakes to the south. I saw a report of 70 degree water on Palestine.
Water was 60 deg earlier this week at Ray Roberts and the fish were in 20 feet.
John 21:3 Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee.
