I actually believe the hot bait theory, more so with plastics. A hot metal blade is almost instantaneously cooled to the ambient water temp as soon as it hits. I like to mold my own plastics right on the boat and go straight from the hot mold to the hook.

Yep, sometimes it's good to work it like a flutter spoon... depends on the barometric pressure and the S&P 500.

Donkey rig for buzz baits does actual work, ... Believe me. Use smaller white buzzbait in front trailed by large chartreuse buzzbait in back, both with trailer hooks.
