My 9 year old grandson and family will be camping at the North Shore Park. He is getting proficient with his bait caster and is determined to catch some bass. He will be fishing from the shore or the pier. I want to give him some lures, plastic or otherwise that will work for him. What do you suggest? Thanks in advance!

Have him throw a Zoom 6" Lizard (Watermelon/Chart) with about a 1/4 oz weight. Just throw it out and drag it in. Bastrop bass love the lizard! Make sure he works the retaining wall along the ramp area. I've caught some really nice fish this time of the year right up against the wall and posts. Good luck!

Here's a video of a nice fish I caught right there along the North Shore retaining wall 4 years ago. This one was on a worm.
