Just watched this on another forum, guess I'll have to try it in the salt now.
Illustrated to me why thumping works.

I have a few charter captains who want me to come down to the coast to try out my thumper. Most say cobia, shark, and some other fish will undoubtedly come to the thump. One wants to try it on marlin. I'm gonna try to get down there pretty soon just to see what all we can pull up.

Does thumping work year round on whites, hybrids and stripers or is it only during the winter?

I told the captains with 30 ft boats it worried me not knowing what might respond and how.
The one with the 54 ft sportfisher said he had nothing to worry about and I agreed.

Year round for me. Even in 12 fow fish will come within casting distance. Drop to 17 fow and drop vertical.
All summer long.
